The Denver-based Cannabis Marketing Association (CMA), which operated the Cannabis Marketing Summit, is closing after more than nine years.

In a letter sent to association members and shared on social media, founder and CEO Lisa Buffo said the CMA’s mission “has always been to bring a position perception to an authentic understanding of cannabis and its consumers.

“We achieved this by supporting the growth of cannabis communications professionals through industry education, cultivating community and establishing best practices.”

In addition to running the Cannabis Marketing Summit and developing in-person and virtual events, Buffo has been a frequent speaker at other industry events, including MJBizCon.

Buffo said she is responding to requests from individuals and groups with serious interest in acquiring the CMA and/or its assets at lisa@marketingcannabis.org.
